" MY JOURNEY TO BECOME A BETTER READER "

At the beginning of the semester, I felt unsure about my English reading and listening skills. I often needed more time to understand long texts, and listening activities made me nervous because I could not always catch the main ideas. I thought reading and listening in English were difficult, and I believed I needed to improve a lot to feel confident.

As the semester went on, my perspective slowly changed. The weekly reading tasks helped me become more comfortable with different kinds of texts, such as narratives, articles, and short stories. I learned how to identify the main ideas, find supporting details, and understand unfamiliar words through context. Listening activities also became less intimidating. The practice of listening to short audio clips, conversations, and lectures trained me to focus more on keywords instead of trying to translate every word.

One of my most favorite activities in this course was the group discussion. Sharing ideas with my classmates helped me understand the texts better and made reading more enjoyable. I also liked the listening exercises that used real-life situations because they felt practical and useful. My least favorite activity was timed reading because it made me feel pressured, but I realized it helped me read faster and more effectively.

Now, at the end of the semester, I feel more confident in both reading and listening. I can understand English texts more quickly, and I am able to catch important points in audio recordings. I think reading and listening in English are no longer as frightening as before.

After this course, I plan to continue reading English stories and listening to podcasts or videos in my free time. I believe constant exposure will help me maintain and improve my skills even though I will not be taking ICC class anymore. This course has shown me that progress comes from consistent practice, and I want to keep that habit.
